Holding off for Cataclysm

Ever since I started enjoying healing back in The Burning Crusade expansion, I’ve taken quite a bit of interest in all of the healing classes. I started with a Holy Paladin back then and now have a Resto Druid as a main. Right now I’m leveling the paladin with the intent to stay Holy and be another healer but it seems like I won’t stop there. As I think about my characters and the plans I have for them, it hit me that in an ideal situation I’d like to have a Restoration Shaman and a Holy Priest as well.

The reality of it is that I might not be able to get that Holy Priest but I do intend to get that Resto shaman up and running and in fact I was working on getting the character up until something came up. I had a nice level 22 female troll shaman going when Blizzcon came and the announcement of the Cataclysm expansion got everyone excited. I remember reading the announcement that day and seeing that Shaman was one of the classes for the new Goblin race and I got hooked. I made plans to shelve my current shaman, who is just now taking up space in my character screen to reserve the name I want for my future Goblin shaman. Boy have I been itching to level up that shaman the past few weeks but I know that holding off will eventually pay off.

Theoretically I can go on and then pay for a race change to Goblin when possible but I won’t because I’m cheap and I also want to see the starting Goblin zones and the changed Azeroth at the apportionment level and not as high level toon breezing through content. I get to play a new class (relatively new to me anyway since my current shaman is still in the 20’s), a new race and see the new Azeroth all in one toon. It’s the perfect scenario for the leveling up experience.

Are there more of you people out there like me who stopped playing or held off creating a character just to play a new Goblin or a Worgen in the expansion? If so then share your story behind the decision here!

More info on 3.2 Argent Tourney Rewards

A while back, Blizzard released some info about the updates to the Argent Tournament coming in patch 3.2. We’re going to get a whole new bunch of dailies and more rewards that players can buy with Champion’s Seals. Now I’m not sure if this is already in the PTR but some more info about the updated Argent Tournament has been released.

CM Zarhym came up with a post in the forums earlier to mention a few things. He said that assuming you’re eligible for all the new daily quests in the Argent Tournament, the maximum number of Champion’s Seals a player can get in a day is 15. This means that you’re exalted with and championed all primary factions plus Sunreavers/Silver Covenant and Argent Crusade and also do the Trial of the Champion in heroic mode,

He also gave a listing of the costs for the new item rewards from the Argent Tournament:

Argent Crusader’s Tabard: 50 seals
Argent Pony Bridle (for your squire): 150 seals
Bind-on-Account chest pieces: 60 seals
Bind-on-Account weapons: 60-95 seals
Bind-on-Account trinkets: 75 seals
Argent Warhorse/Argent Charger (epic ground mounts): 100 seals
Quel’dorei Steed/Sunreaver Hawkstrider (epic ground mounts): 100 seals
Silver Covenant Hippogryph/Sunreaver Dragonhawk (epic flying mounts): 150 seals
Shimmering Wyrmling (pet): 40 seals

So even with potentially more Champion’s Seals that a player can get per day, it seems like it’s still could a while to get what you want especially if you want so many of these things.

Sam Raimi directing Warcraft movie

It’s been a while since Blizzard announced that they have a Warcraft movie in the works and not much has been revealed about it since. After such a long time though it’s nice to hear from them again about this project to announce another major development, they finally got a director! Blizzard Entertainment along with legendary Pictures announced that Director Sam Raimi has agreed to sign in for this project which will be a live action movie about World of Warcraft.

Sam Raimi is the director most famous for his work on the 3 latest Spiderman movies and is also known for writing and directing The Evil Dead and Drag Me to Hell. Raimi will be working with Charles Roven’s Atlas Entertainment who produced Batman Begins and Dark Knight. That’s just a short list of the people who are going to be involved with this project and already it’s nice to see that the movie should be in good hands.

As of right now, nobody really knows what the movie is going to be about. I mean the World of Warcraft lore is so expansive that already we have the stories of the original game plus two expansions to tell some of it and that’s definitely not all of it yet. My guess is that the movie’s story would revolve more around the tension between the Alliance and Horde rather than something complicated like the Lich King. of course I could be very wrong. Here’s where we do more speculating!

MMO Champion Video on Patch 3.1 Mounts

Patch 3.1 will be good news for all you players out there who just love collecting mounts or are tired of their current one and would want a fresh new one. Most of the new mounts coming out in the patch will be from the upcoming new content, the Argent Tournament.

The ones from the Argent Tournament are merely old racial mounts that have new colors. If you’re tired or just fed up doing BG’s to get honor to buy that mount you want from from the BG rewards vendor, this is another way you can get. Blizzard really wasn’t kidding when they said they’ll have the mounts you need to get that achievement to collect so many.
