Update On Season 1 Arena Gear and Honor Costs

At Blizcon, there was an announcement that the season 1 arena gear will be purchasable with battleground honor points sometime in the future. This is good news for those people who would like to get the season 1 gear but hate the competitive and stressful atmosphere of doing arena battles.

Let’s face it, some people like myself want to get nice pvp gear but prefer the honor system to the arena point system because you get points at your own pace and losing in the battlegrounds isn’t as much of a bummer compared to if you lose arena battles. You lose in the BG’s and you just get less honor and marks than the opposite faction. You keep on losing, you just get less honor but there’s no negative effect. When you lose in the arena your rating go down and the more you lose the worse and worse you are off.

Well, Kalgan, the Blizzard poster has an update about how much honor the season 1 arena pieces will cost and when the Season 3 arena gear will be released (and that’s when the season 1 gear will be available at the BG pvp rewards vendors).

Somewhere around 15k honor per piece. Source

Yep. And for those asking, season 3 is likely to start either coinciding with or some time after the zul’aman patch (patch 2.3). Source

Now if we can really get rid of all the afk-ing happening in the BG’s, especially in Alterac Valley then this would be a pretty cool and fair deal for those guys looking for better gear.
