Would Pallies Wield A Staff?

I know it’s not Paladin-like to wield a staff. I’m sure you’d rather see your pally carry a sword or a hammer. But to me it’s not hunter-like to wield a staff either. It makes them look funny and yet they can wield one. I guess this is one reason why the “it’s a hunter weapon!” issues arose.

Back to Paladins, it seems that the most common role they fill is that of a healer and there are some good healing staves out there. Assuming Paladins were given the ability to wield a staff, would they? I’m thinking that if that were possible, paladins could shift to a staff when they’re healing exclusively and then revert to their two hander or one hander + shield when they’re doing other things. Or is the one hander + shield still the bst setup for all of the paladins endeavors?

Paladin with a staff… you got to admit that would look kinda funny!
