I took my first trip to Universal Studios as an adult this past September and I have to say that it lived up to the hype. I went to the one in Orlando but I’m sure that both locations (the other is in California) are equally amazing.
One of the best things about the theme park are the extensive virtual reality rides. Whether you are fleeing goblins and wizards on Escape from Gringotts as one of Harry Potter‘s crew or trying to survive under the protection of Optimus Prime on the Transformers ride, Universal does a great job of making it an immersive experience.
Fast & Furious Supercharged puts fans in the fast lane with Vin Diesel, Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson, and Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson. Of course, the ride needs a villain so Luke Evans, the main antagonist from Fast & Furious 6, makes an appearance.
Here’s a quick video to give you an idea of what to expect:
Truthfully, it does look like it will be entertaining but watching the action from a tram is not anywhere near as cool as something that moves and shakes thrill seeking fans like the Transformers ride. Still, I’d be more than willing to give it a chance if I happened to be at the park.
However, one Universal engineer did explain in the video: “if you tried to shoot an experience like we’re creating here of driving through the streets of L.A. at 120 miles per hour with the actors and the cars and special effects, that it would be impossible to shoot.” Good point.
