What a catch! A Florida fisherman got the shock of a lifetime when he cast out his lure only to find a 22-year-old woman at the end of his line who was drunk and angry.
The bizarre incident took place at the St. Johns County Pier on Tuesday at approximately 6:00 pm, Action News Jax reported. A fisherman who simply wanted to spend some quality outdoor time instead found himself face-to-face with 22-year-old Alexandria Turner.
The young woman allegedly swam up to the man’s fishing line and cursed him out before biting onto his rigging and swimming away, taking his bait with her. Enraged, the man called police, but by the time they arrived on the scene, Turner had become even more belligerent.
Deputies ordered the disturbed woman to come to the pier office where the fisherman had rented the pole, but Turner refused. She then threw a temper tantrum so intense that she upset the “sense of public norm at the pier” as officers simply tried to take her into custody to protect her from herself.
When deputies tried to place her in handcuffs, she began screaming, “I’m f*cking naked!” multiple times; Turner was actually wearing a bikini. The police report also noted that she smelled of alcohol at the time of the arrest. Turner was eventually subdued and taken into custody on suspicion of disorderly intoxication and resisting arrest without violence.
The drunk mermaid was eventually released from jail the next day after spending nearly two days behind bars. She was sentenced to time served by a judge, who likely just wanted to get her out of the courtroom before she started nibbling on stuff.
