“NHL 2K10” Screenshots
NHL 2K10 will be released on September 15, 2009 but some great screenshots have already become available. I would love to say that this is my favorite hockey game but I prefer the series released by EA Sports and, ironically, NHL 10 will come out on the same day as 2K10.
Looking at these images, though, I’m beginning to think that, this year, I might need both games since this looks pretty sweet. The graphics look like they’ve been improved and this newest version includes some nice updates.
In terms of fan-experience, they’ve added rink intros for each arena, better goal celebrations and better looking (more realistic) characters. On the ice, players will have more defensive controls and stick lifts as well as stumble shots and a new defensive skating model along with incidental contact.
Within the contract/free agency system, players will have greater control over roster management, fantasy drafts and an updated financial model (I wonder if Gary Bettman will have his hands in these virtual salary caps too – just kidding).
In addition to being able to play against the computer, players will be able to enjoy a franchise season with or against a friend in both on or offline play (this varies between the consoles).
Here are some screenshots (click to enlarge). I’m not sure it can replace NHL 10 for me but I am definitely willing to give it a shot.
