Are you buying an Android Reader?
Android is quietly moving into various devices and they might not have the buzz of an iPhone, or the excitement of a mobile operating system, but they are definitely making their way to gadgets we are using everyday.
eBook readers are a hit and such is the case with Amazon’s kindle who have led the industry with eBook readers.
Barnes and Noble who have long lost its luster is now trying to do catch up in the eBook world as rumors have circulated that their upcoming eReader is going to run on Android. The supposedly eBook powered Android is currently the most powerful eBook reader compared to the lighweight Kindle or Sony’s eBook reader.
I find the Amazon Kindle rather expensive and this is because they have the monopoly in this market. For the longest time I was hoping that more and more vendors go into the eBook business to drive the cost down. The new player in Barnes and Noble should help improve the competition which would bring the cost down. In the end, I am hoping that price of eReader would be within acceptable amount.
This is similar to the netbooks market wherein there were only a few players until one vendor into another have created their own netbook device. The netbooks market has now taken the world by storm and we can see netbooks as low as $ 299 USD.
If the cost of the Barnes and Noble eBook reader is with the $200 USD mark, are you going to buy it instead of Amazon Kindle?
