Digital photo frame-slash-printer
Have you ever had someone look through the pics on your digital photo frame and they go, “Hey, I’d like a copy of this photo!” Yeah, me neither. But should that day ever come, Sony has got you covered.
Come January 2010, Sony’s DPP-F700 digital photo frame will make it easy to print out 4×6 photos in 45 seconds. It stores up to 2,000 photos on its 1GB of memory, and displays them on a 7″ LCD screen. A nice touch is that you can do a lot more than just print the photos in their original format. You can edit any image you want to print with options like sizing, cropping, borders, brightness, contrast, hue, and sharpness.
You can also do more than just standard pictures. The DPP-F700 includes 30+ templates for printing photo calendars, ID photos, and multiple pics on a single sheet.
Transfer photos with USB, or just about any memory card type you can imagine. An internal sensor will adjust your photos from landscape to portrait and back again, depending on which way you have the frame set. It comes with its own remote control, a paper tray, cleaning kit, AC adaptor, and stand.
Sony’s DPP-F700 will be available in January for $200. Is it worth the price to be able to print from a photo frame? Hey, nobody thought cell phones with built in cameras would catch on, at first.
