“Hot Fuzz” Now on Blu-ray

Hot Fuzz reunites Simon Pegg and Nick Frost who scored comedy genius with Shaun of the Dead.  While Hot Fuzz isn’t nearly as funny, it’s still a pretty great movie but it’s not for anyone who is even a little squeamish.

In this buddy cop style movie, Pegg is overachieving London officer Nicholas Angel.  He’s actually a bit of a pain in the ass so it’s not surprising when, after being promoted to sergeant, he’s transferred to the hellish small town of Sandford.

Once there, he meets Danny Butterman (Frost) whose goal in life is to replicate the law enforcement action seen in Bad Boys II.  Yeah, he’s pretty ridiculous but, oddly enough, he comes close.  In fact, I think the action in Hot Fuzz was more believable than that in Bad Boys II.

Everything about Sandford seems run-of-the mill at first but it doesn’t take long for the town’s true nature to be revealed.  Residents start dying and Angel sees it as an opportunity to show off his big-city skills.  Of course, he’s got Danny as a sidekick so things don’t go as smoothly as planned.

It’s great that it’s now available on Blu-ray!  Make sure you pick up a copy!
