Michael Vick Traded After This Season?
Will Michael Vick be the new face of the Eagles after Donovan McNabb retires? Probably not. According to Philly.com, the Eagles will likely trade him after this year. There’s no doubt that Vick will gain a nice draft pick if traded, and the Eagles do need to beef up their team with some younger talent.
If they were to keep Vick for a second year, however, the Eagles would have to pay him $5.6 million. Not an entirely bad price if you’re in a pinch for a quarterback. But as of right now, the Eagles aren’t in a pinch. So Vick is worth more as a viable trade option than he is as a quarterback.
Philly.com says that if they were “to get a second-round pick for Vick, they could go into next April’s draft with as many as seven of the top 100 selections.” That’s a boon no coach could turn down, especially not Andy Reid.
