Miles Austin to See More Action

Miles Austin is a secret weapon no more. In Week 5 of the 2009 NFL season, Austin had a monstrous outing. The 6-foot-3, 214-pound wide receiver for the Dallas Cowboys had ten catches for 250 yards and two touchdowns. The receiving yards broke a franchise record and his performance apparently earned him more action going forward.

Said Wade Phillips, head coach of the Cowboys: “We’re going to get him on the field. His run after the catch is so strong that if you get him the football, he’s liable to make a big play.”

Austin started Week 5 due to Roy Williams missing the game with an injury. If Austin is going to see more action, who will see less action? Williams has a big contract and it’s unlikely he’d happily accept a bench role. That leaves the other starting wide receiver — Patrick Crayton. Crayton has been productive at times but Austin may have just leapfrogged him in the depth chart.

I have been thinking that for two years now…Get Miles Austin in there !!!
Sam Hurd coud see less time… Crayton is great on end around plays
Still need to see if Williams can be a big player in this league, I personally don’t think so, his atheltic ability is far from exceptional.
