Keselowski Wins on Iowa Speedway

Brad Keselowski had a great Saturday that saw him grab his second win of the 2009 Nationwide Series season by taking the victory in the inaugural Nationwide Series competition on the Iowa Speedway outside of Newton, Iowa. This victory also provides Keselowski with an extra $75,000 through the Nationwide Insurance Dash 4 Cash program, which honors full-time Nationwide Series racers who are able to take the victory in selected races, with this race on the Iowa Speedway being one of the four included. Iowa Speedway’s First Nationwide Race

New NASCAR capable race tracks are a breed of venue that need to meet specific criteria in order to qualify as a race track for Nationwide Series races, let alone host Sprint Cup competitions, which obviously are a beast of a different sort. The three year old 0.875 mile Iowa Speedway recently achieved the first part of their goal to eventually host Sprint Cup events on a regular basis.
