China Mobile Uses 200 Phones to Apparently DDoS China Telecom, Caught by Police

Seems we have a long way to go before translation technology can bridge the gap between metaphorical Chinese and relatively literal English, so we can only rely on this report from Reddit for now.

China-Mobile-DDoS-Attack

Based on the poorly translated Chinese source article, despite the culprit(s)—including someone apparently named Master Wu—the China Mobile employees were caught trying to overwhelm the competitor’s cell sites near a mass transit station, it seems by trying to make calls from 200 cell phones at the same time from inside a van. Said phones were strewn all over the vehicle’s floor.

The poor translation doesn’t make clear why police eventually forced open the side of the van “after the crowd of onlookers”, but eventually the article explains how the suspects contended that making calls wasn’t a crime or something. At least one policeman refuted such a lame excuse with “Do not be noisy in here, okay?”

In any case, where this case will lead is pending on an investigation, which includes “four officers still making a transcript”. Help! Anyone here fluent in Chinese and English? I just wish this happened in Japan, so we could have cool mock-awesome phrases like “China Mobile… Super Hidden in Van Network Barrage Attack!”
