Straight from Direct2Dell came the announcement. US shoppers can now pre-order the Dell Inspiron Mini 10 through QVC (here and here), and availability from Dell.com is set for February 26.
Six colors will be available, and the following standard specs are promised:
- 10.1″ 1024 x 576 display
- a built-in 1.3 megapixel webcam
- HDMI output
- 3 USB ports and Ethernet
- Line out and line in
- 802.11g Wi-Fi
- 3-cell 24Whr battery
- 160GB 5400rpm hard drive
- 4-in-1 memory card reader
- A larger keyboard than the Mini 9
The Intel Atom Z520 and Z530 are initial processor options, while buyers can choose XP or Ubuntu. Dell blogger Lionel_Menchaca promised more spec upgrade options as the Mini 10 rolls out. Promised starting price? $399, though the QVC product page asks for $559.
Obviously, the Mini 10 will reach other countries sometime in the future. Which is great, if Dells didn’t take too long to get fixed in countries like the Philippines.
