Do you remember the 1996 film The Craft? I thought it was a great flick and really showed how mean girls can be in high school. While I can relate to some of the things they did, these girls had magic at disposal so you can only imagine the kinds of things they did to each other.
The movie is like Mean Girls meets The Witches of Eastwick and let me just say that it makes for a scary combination. The plot follows Sarah, who is new to St. Benedict’s Academy. As someone who has always been different, she immediately fits …read more
The film adaptation of the popular children’s book, Where The Wild Things Are, comes out in theaters today and I know that movie-goers young and old are going to enjoy it. I think they did an incredible job recreating the characters from the book and the reviews so far have been favorable.
The plot follows Max, a young boy who feels that his free, adventurous spirit is misunderstood by the people around him. After running away, Max finds himself on an island filled with strange creatures whose “emotions are as wild and unpredictable as their actions.” The need a leader and …read more
Here’s a movie that’s going to make blended families seem like a bad idea! The Stepfather opens in theaters today and, as the name suggests, the plot surrounds a family whose lives are endangered by a new man in the house.
In the film, Michael (Penn Badgley) comes home from military school to discover that his mom (Sela Ward) is currently shacking up with her new boyfriend, David (Dylan Walsh). Michael grows suspicious because David just seems too perfect.

Land of the Lost was released on DVD and Blu-ray earlier this week and, although it didn’t get the best ratings, I think it looks decent enough for a few laugh over the weekend.
The film stars Will Ferrell anhd Dr. Rick Marshall, a scientist who, along with his research assistant (Anna Friel) and a redneck survivalist () end up going back to a time when dinosaurs roam free. With no weapons, minimal skills and even less common sense these three have to find a way to make it out of this adventure alive.
Since it stars Will Ferrell, you can pretty …read more
Horror-flick Drag Me To Hell is now available on DVD and Blu-ray and it’s a great movie to pick up this month if you are looking to beef up your scary movie collection in time for Halloween.
A lot of these movies look silly but I have to admit that, while I haven’t seen it, there’s something about Drag Me To Hell that gives me the creeps. Critics seemed to like it too since even Rotten Tomatoes gave it a 92% Fresh rating!
The film is about a young, ambitious loan agent who denies the request of an old lady who can’t …read more
Ryan Reynolds and Sandra Bullock paired up in the romantic comedy, The Proposal, which is being released on DVD and Blu-ray today. I was surprised but I thought these two actually worked reasonably well together.
In the film, Andrew Paxton (Reynolds) is the loyal assistant to Margaret Tate (Bullock), the much-hated editor at a New York publishing house. She’s successful and driven but she’s also ruthless and pushy but Andrew grins and bears it in hopes of moving up in the industry.
Things veer off-track for Margaret, a Canadian, when she’s told that her immigration papers aren’t in order and she is …read more
South Park sometimes really crosses the line, even by my decidedly liberal standards, but the feature length film, South Park: Bigger, Longer and Uncut was seriously genius.
Yes, it it offensive and controversial but it’s also well-written, intelligent and thought-provoking.
In the film, the parents of South Park decide to wage war on Canada because they believe that the country is causing their children to use bad language. It all gets started after the kids go to see the Terrence and Philip movie and come back saying some very bad words.
Everything gets blown out of proportion, Cartman ends …read more
Megan Fox might be hot, but she could be about to learn that a pretty face isn’t enough to keep a job if you trash the director. Transformers 3 already has a release date but, of course, the plot details are still in development.
Reports are starting to emerge about the possibility that Michael Bay might be getting ready to kill her off in the next installment. If that’s true, I’m sure it has nothing to do with the fact that Megan Fox compared Bay to Adolf Hitler.
One source said: “Michael’s pretty much discovered Megan and now he’s very quietly looking …read more
I have loved the Transformers franchise for decades and I know I’m not alone. For all of you who can’t get enough of the battle between the Autobots and the Decepticons, Paramount Home Entertainment has given me two awesome prize packs to give away!

Couples Retreat hits theaters today and I think it’s got the potential to be very funny. As the name suggests, the movie is about four Midwestern couples who travel to a tropical island resort but are stunned to learn that they must participate in the couples’ therapy sessions.
While there is one pair in the group who want to work on their marriage, the other three just want to have some fun in the sun but they quickly realize that their group-rate vacation is going to be a lot more costly than they expected. Of course, I’m sure almost all couples …read more
